Are you an organised and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys variety and takes pride in getting the numbers right?

Our client is looking for an Accounts Administrator to join their team and provide day-to-day finance and administration support across four companies.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, payroll, month-end accounting and financial administration.

  • Supporting payroll administration for approximately 30 employees and casual contractors, including leave, employee changes, deductions and payroll queries.
  • Processing payroll runs in Crystal and posting payroll journals to Xero.
  • Supporting month-end close, including journals, recharges, intercompany transactions and draft accounts.
  • Preparing aged receivables reports and supporting the wider Finance team with queries.
  • Processing employee expenses and company credit cards.
  • Completing quarterly marine and credit insurance declarations.
  • Maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records and filing.
  • Supporting the administration of Xero, SnapSales and other financial systems.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
  • Providing general support to the Finance team as required.

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems and people, and who can manage competing priorities without losing sight of the detail.

We’re looking for:

  • Strong experience across the full accounting function, with hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, reconciliations, payroll and month-end accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
  • Strong Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables.
  • Confident computer and systems skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to produce accurate, timely and meaningful information.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A professional, service-focused approach when dealing with colleagues, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive and improvement-focused approach, with the ability to recognise opportunities for greater efficiency and communicate ideas constructively.
  • Experience with Xero is advantageous but not essential.
  • Payroll experience is preferred, particularly experience with Crystal or similar payroll systems.

What’s on offer

This is an excellent opportunity to join a diverse and established business where no two days are exactly the same. You’ll work in a collaborative and supportive office environment and have exposure to a broad range of finance functions.

If you’re looking for a role where your organisation, accuracy, initiative and strong systems skills will be valued, we’d love to hear from you!
