Office Manager

Progressive Leathers was established in 2003 and is a Hawke’s Bay owned company that designed and commissioned a new skin processing plant located in Whakatu, between Hastings and Napier on the East Coast.

They have established a premium international brand supported by the leading edge “smart technologies” they have developed in their processing operations. The majority of their skins and pelts are exported for the manufacture of high quality leather handbags and leather garment ware.

They have continued to grow and receive product from 8 export meat processing plants in the lower North Island. They also have a small wool skin tannery in Napier and a joint venture in Oamaru in the South Island. All marketing, shipping and administration functions are conducted from their office in Whakatu.

Due to a resignation after 14 years service we seek an Office Manager to work in their Whakatu office reporting to the Chief Executive and alongside the Accountant while we undertake a recruitment process for a permanent replacement.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily Reconciliations
  • Inter-company Debtors and Creditors
  • Inter-company invoicing
  • Payroll - IMS
  • PAYE
  • General ledger EOM balance sheet reconciliations
  • General Admin

Experience and skills:

  • Proven hands on experience in an office managers role
  • Working across multiple entities
  • IMS Payroll
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically MS Excel
  • Foreign Currency transactions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • A flexible, team orientated personality with a willingness to support the Accountant and CEO

The successful Office Manager will also have experience with a variety of office software, be able to accurately handle administrative duties and ideally have a background in the export sector. Hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
